` 30 cr for devt of roads, drains in Madikeri

CMC likely to get the State governments approval within a month

The CMC has approved an action plan for the development work worth Rs 30 crore. The work will be taken up using the funds available from Chief Minister’s Small and Medium Town Development Project.

The action plan has been sent to the government for approval.

“We are likely to get approval for the proposal within a month. Once we get the consent from the government, 17 work will be taken up. The tender process will begin shortly,” said CMC Commissioner Shashikumar.

The UGD work will be taken up in Madikeri. The CMC has earmarked Rs six crore for the purpose. The work on the development of roads will also be taken up on a priority basis.
 
The work which received green signal from the CMC includes: concreting of road from Ranipete Junction to Convent junction; widening and asphaltation of road from Redfurn to jalashaya badavane-Sudarshan guest house; asphaltation of interior road in Housing board colony on Mysore road; widening of road from Indira Gandhi Circle to Mahadevapete; asphaltation of Mallikarjuna Nagara road, behind ITI, Appachu Kavi road and Gaulibeedi masjid road, Ranipete interior road, Bhagavathi Nagara, dairy farm road.

The action plan includes constructing storm water drains from Aravind Motors to Webs Circle, Appachu Kavi road to CMC quarters-CMC office; footpath in front of KSRTC bus shelter
