Celebrating a successful journey

Designer Paresh Lamba has always believed in creating pieces of garments that are practical, wearable and not too loud, quite like the man himself. Paresh unveiled his latest collection, Sartorial Collezioni, at a bash in the City recently.

The collection, designed to celebrate fifteen years, of Paresh in the business of fashion, presented a lineup for men that is bold and ambitious. There were bolder silhouettes and fabrics that reflected sheer exquisiteness.

Talking about his inspiration for the latest collection, Paresh says that ‘sartorial’  literally means well-dressed. “The line that I have created has a mix of resort, party, club, ethnic and office wear. And it is all designed the way I perceive fashion to be in a few years from now,” he says.

Paresh observes that this season is meant for partying, holidaying and is also a time when a lot of marriages happen. “I’ve created something for everyone. The resort wear has a lot of colours. I am aware that men have limitations when it comes to wearing colours. But I’ve created something in pink, red and yellow. I think men must wear something colourful,” he adds.

The ethnic line has elaborate work with the right amount of embellishments, zardosi and brocade. “But nothing is loud and over the top. It is subtle styling where the emphasis is on the cut and design. It is imperative that the wearer looks good and feels comfortable,” he avers.

Paresh states that he usually sticks to black and white whenever he creates something for club and party wear. “I believe that dark colours are best suited for a nightout,” he says and adds, “but this time I’ve brought in a lot of shimmer and worked around metallic fabrics to give the sheen.”

Among the invitees were the crème de la crème from the fashion community, regulars at all Page 3 events and Paresh’s friends and well wishers. The showstopper for the evening was actor Sudeep.
