Seven committees to look into Tula Sankramana

Law and order committee headed by Madikeri DySP, health, cleanliness, drinking water and food committee headed by Additional DC, lodging committee headed by Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer, transportation and road committee headed by Regional Transport Officer, reception committee headed by Talacauvery Pratishtapana Samiti Secretary,  publicity committee headed by the district information officer, cultural sub-committee headed by Kannada and Culture department Assistant Director have been constituted.

The police have been specifically asked to take special care in controlling rush near teerthakundike and the entrance during teerthodbhava. They have been asked to install additional barricades wherever necessary. The police have requested the Public Works Department to assist them while installing barricades.

The Deputy Commissioner has asked the officials to provide accommodation to the police personnel arriving for Tula Sankramana duty at Bhagamandala Government Primary School. He has also instructed to provide proper drinking water, toilets and electricity facility to them.

The officials of the forest department have been asked to clear the Madikeri-Bhagamandala-Talacauvery road for smooth vehicular traffic during Tula Sankramana festivities. The officials of the PWD and Forest department have been asked to keep their  guest houses ready for the VIPs coming for the occasion.

Since the Bhagamandala road has been damaged due to the recent rains, the PWD Executive Engineer has been asked to repair the road at the earliest.

The Chescom has been told to provide uninterrupted power supply in Bhagamandala gram panchayat limits during the festivities. Besides, the officials have been asked to provide proper supply on Bhagamandala-Talacauvery road.
Bhagamandala gram panchayat has been asked to take strict measures to see that vehicles are not washed in Triveni Sangama in Bhagamandala since the river Cauvery is being polluted day by day.

The DC has asked the GP Secretary to ban plastic in Bhagamandala limits.
He has also advised the GP to get police department’s assistance in vacating the temporary shops on the roadside near the temple. The RTO has been asked to arrange additional buses from Madikeri to Bhagamandala and Talacauvery for one month in the wake of Sankramana.

The DC has specifically asked not to hike bus fare in this season. The Health Department and GP have been instructed to construct temporary toilets in Bhagamandala and Talacauvery and depute sufficient workers there.

The temple committee has been advised to install sign boards and information plaques at different places for the convenience of the public. The Deputy Commissioner has asked the Excise department to impose liquor ban from 6 am on October 17 to 6 am on October 18 in Bhagamandala GP limits.
The Health department has been asked to keep sufficient number of ambulances ready while the fire department has been asked to keep fire brigades ready in case of emergency.

The district administration has decided to use the service of scouts, guides, home guards and the members of NGOs.
