Gutsy Patel finishes second

India’s Aditya Patel put on a stunning show to finish second in Race II of the JK Racing Asia Series here at the Buddh International Circuit on Sunday.

The Chennai-born Patel finished second in a time of 20:12.218 in the ten-lap support race for the Indian GP. Team Eurointernational ruled the roost as Aston Hare led his team’s 1-2-3. In Race II, Hare wrapped up the rookie championship ahead of team-mates Patel and Danial Hidzir.

Meritus GP’s Afiq Ikhwan, who won Race I on Saturday, finished fourth despite losing ground mid-way through the race. Indian drivers Raj Bharath and Visnu Prasad of Meco Racing finished ninth and tenth respectively.

Meanwhile, Jordan King pulled off a stunning win in Race II of the MRF Challenge to extend his lead in the overall table.

Luciano Bacheta and Conor Daly too were engaged in an intense battle before the latter went wide on one of the turns to claim the second spot. Jordan leads the points table with 48 points, followed by Daly on 44, and Bacheta on 39.
The next round of the MRF Challenge 2012 will be held at The Buddh International Circuit from November 30 - December 2.|
