Problems galore in polytechnic hostel

Students take out protest march demanding immediate solutions

They said, “The hostel situated at Ramanahalli is a mess. As many as 120 students reside in the hostel. The hostel has only three toilets and only one are cleaned. Though students are ready to pay and get cleaned, due to the shortage of water, it can not be undertaken.”
In a memorandum submitted to Additional DC, the students said, “The roof of the hostel building is in dilapidated condition. A borewell which was dug in the premises have become defunct. As a result, we have to depend on water supplied by the CMC. Apart from a guard, the hostel does not have any other staff. There are no proper vessels to cook food in the hostel. Students themselves have to appoint a cook.” They urged the authorities concerned to appoint a cook.

They said solar plates installed in the hostel have been also spoiled. Pipes have not been installed.
Though the matter was brought to the notice of the officers concerned, no action has been initiated so far.

Additional DC assured to supply drinking water to the hostel.

He also assured to solve the problems confronting the hostel at the earliest.

Students fall sick

 Some students of DACG Polytechnic hostel have fallen sick         
 and were hospitalised. Ranjitha, Krishnamurthy, B O Rakesh, Avinash, H P Rakesh, Pradeepraikar, Arunkumar Mallegowda have been hospitalised.

It is said that the students developed vomiting as impure water is being supplied to the hostel. District-in-Charge Secretary Srikanth visited the hostel on Monday. Officials
