Uproar at Kejriwal press meet

Last Updated 31 October 2012, 19:54 IST

The third exposé by the India Against Corruption (IAC) on Wednesday witnessed a brief uproar when a person from the audience stood up amid a press conference to allege that Arvind Kejriwal and his wife, an Indian Revenue Service Officer, never got transferred for 30 years.

Some people also claimed that the man hurled a slipper at the people sitting on the podium, but missed the target.  IAC supporters wanted to shout down the man, but Kejriwal offered to answer his questions. However, there was confusion and he was whisked away from the venue. Later, some people shouted slogans against Kejriwal.

“I want to ask why you and your wife were never transferred out of Delhi,” the man asked.
He did not identify himself and kept on insisting that he was “alone” and not backed by anyone. He claimed to be an “aam aadmi.”

The man then shouted out loudly,  “Kejriwal and company are fooling the country.” Kejriwal alleged that the disruption was “deliberate and planned.” But he asserted, “We cannot be silenced.”
