Apart from 23 individuals, an organisation and a gram panchayath too have been selected for the award.<br /><br />Awardees<br /><br />According to the official press release, the awardees in the individual category include Ganapathy Hoblidar and Arun Kumar Shiroor (theatre), Vittal Kunder (social service), K R Venkatakrishna and G S Chandrasekhar (medicine), Y N Shetty (Tulu literature), Jaya Kumar, M Kogga Achari and Kodi Vishwanath Ganiga (Yakshagana), Veena Muralidhar Samaga and M Amulya Manja (classical dance), K Sridhar Das G (Harikata), M Chandrasekhar Hegde and Archana M G (sports), Vinu Vishwanatha Shetty Karinje (Kambala) Janardhan Kodavoor (Journalism), H S Ballal, Nery Cornelio and Babu M (education) B Sudhindra Aithal (animal protection), Bhaskar A Kotian (art and sculpture), Shankar Pambada (folklore) and Mohana Serigar (instrumental music).<br /><br />Yerlapady Gram Panchayath in Karkala has been selected for the exceptional work done by the Bharath Nirman Volunteers under Lab to Land programme.
