Extortion gang busted, four held

 Four of a gang have been arrested for involvement in extorting money from businessmen and general public in central Delhi’s Chandni Mahal, police said.

A .32 semi-automatic pistol along with three live cartridges were recovered from Mohammad Amaan, 28, Mohammad Talib, 23, Sehzad, 21, and Mohammad Naimuddin, 38. The action was taken after Dr Mohammad Nasir complained that he was being threatened for extortion money for last 15 to 20 days.

“Nasir had alleged that the accused came to his clinic on October 31 and threatened him at gunpoint,” said Devesh Chandra Srivastva, additional commissioner of police (central).
A raid was conducted at a house in Kucha Mir Hasim, and Sehzad was held.

Amaan was arrested in Guru Nanak Chowk and a .32 bore pistol loaded with three live cartridge was recovered from him.Efforts are being made to identify other victims of the gang.
