The Fanatic Fans Challenge was initiated to identify three Royal Challengers’ Fans with exceptional writing, photography and motivational skills. The contest called for online entries through the Royal Challengers’ website, www.royalchallengers.com. They were then asked to collect public votes and references and the top 27, nine from each category, from over 3,700 entries, were selected for the grand finale. The finalists were judged by the Royal Challengers coach, Ray Jennings and the captain Anil Kumble.

What goes into the making of a winning fan? Passion for the sport and the Royal Challengers team, exceptional writing, photography and motivational skills were the qualities that the judges were looking for in the winners.

Those that ultimately made the cut were Prashant Dhanke, who was awarded the prize for the Chief RCB Blogger, Siva Kumar, who was crowned the Chief Photographer and Siddharth Lodha, who was designated as the Chief RCB Fan for the Royal Challengers. The three member team will be given the opportunity to stay and travel along with the Royal Challengers team, and will also be granted preferential access to all the RCB matches. They will also be required to fulfil their duties as “content contributors” to the RCB Fan oriented sections of the Royal Challengers website, during the Champions League.

“This is a great opportunity for all Royal Challengers fans to become more proactive and involved with the team. I congratulate the chosen three and wish them all the best. Now they will be virtually running the RCB Fan channel during the Champions League, working behind-the-scenes with stories and constantly updating the site with insights and news,” said Anil Kumble, Captain, Royal Challengers, announcing the winners.
