People's problems

Streetlights not working

The streetlights at 5th Main, ‘B’ Sector, Yelahanka New Town have not been working for the past four months. The problem was brought to the notice of BBMP official, Muniraj over mobile phone (9535293715) and to Gnaneshwar (JE) Byatarayanapura BBMP office (9008601414).It was also informed to grievance cell (22660000) on October 20, (grievance No, 103555) and reminded on October 31. However,, the lights have not been repaired till date. Residents are finding it difficult to use the road. A public tap is installed close to an electricity pole and hence residents cannot collect water. The authorities necessary steps.

Prevent misuse of playgrounds

Two playgrounds are located adjacent to each other in Sahakarnagar, Bangalore North. The residents and the schoolchildren use the grounds regularly and both have been kept neat and tidy. Hundreds of students from Vivekananda School located opposite the grounds play here.

The JD(S) held a political rally at the grounds on September 30, 2012 where meals was served at the end of event. Many local and State leaders of the party attended the function. But next day, regular walkers found the grounds littered with meals plates, leftover food, plastic covers and water bottles.

This very ground is used by schoolchildren for parking their bicycles and playing.  Can a responsible political party commit this kind of nuisance? How can the voters such party to power? The authorities concerned need to take suitable action.

Improve bus connectivity in City

The Volvo city service on route V-600KC between Nagarabhavi BDA Complex and Electronics City operates only at 8 am from the Nagarabhavi BDA Complex. No other schedules are operated for the rest of the day from here.

Many officegoers head to Jayanagar, JP Nagar, BTM Layout, HSR Layout and other surrounding areas for their work and as such there is a huge demanded for Volvo AC buses from this part of the City. Hence, the BMTC is requested to ply additional trips at 9 am, 9.30 am and 10.15 am from Nagarabhavi BDA Complex.

Trim bus routes

Some of the long route BMTC buses are plying covering abnormally wider areas leading to avoidable waste of time and fuel. They also add to pollution and already congested roads of Bangalore. On account of the circuitous route taken by these buses, passengers reach their destination belatedly.

One such route is 401K. It takes one and half hours to two and half hours to travel from Yelahanka to Kengeri and vice versa.

Will the BMTC Authorities kindly look into this and rationalise the routes.

Ply more buses

Commuters are finding it difficult to travel to RT Nagar and Sultanpalya due to lack of bus services. The BMTC is requested to provide a bus service from Hegde Nagar to Majestic via Veeranna Palya - Sultanpalya- RT Nagar.

Divert city buses

There is a need for a direct bus between Nandini Layout and Malleswaram Circle which may terminate at KBS. At present the route 80A has a number of buses plying through Rajajinagar and some of them may be routed through Malleswaram to help people from Nandini Layout.

Heavy traffic congestion

The traffic on Tin Factory flyover - KR Puram Railway Station - Whitefield/Marathalli Ring Road is getting worse on weekdays. The authorities concerned - traffic police, BMTC and BBMP - should chalk out a solution to ease the congestion. Road users are facing trouble in passing through the two-km stretch.

Direct bus required
There is no direct BMTC service from Kaggadasapura, Vignan Nagar to Whitefield and HAL Airport . The residents have to go to the old airport road to take the bus. This also compels people to depend on autos. The commuters would be greatly benefitted if a direct bus is introduced .
