Missing driver found dead in cab

 A missing cab driver was found dead in his car in A Narayanapura on Tuesday. The car was parked at a public ground for two days and local residents, who grew suspicious, alerted the police.

The police broke open the car door and retrieved the body. Post mortem was conducted at Bowring Hospital. The deceased was later identified as Shankar, 65, a cab driver and a resident of Mahalakshmi Layout.

His son Vinay identified the body Tuesday evening and it was handed over to the family.

Family sources said Shankar went missing on Sunday and a complaint was lodged at Mahalakshmi Layout police station. Family sources said Shankar was suffering from asthma and was a heart patient.

Killed in collision

A 36-year-old cab driver was killed when a tempo collided head-on with his bike in Domlur II stage, Monday night.

The accident occurred when M N Raghunandan, a resident of Doopanahalli ,was returning home after dropping his friend who had come visiting him.

A speeding tempo coming from the opposite direction rammed the bike Raghunandan was riding.

He sustained severe injuries and was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The driver of the tempo has been arrested.
In another incident, a senior citizen was mowed down by a crane on TC Palya Main Road, Tuesday morning. Edward George, 72, an ex-serviceman and a resident of Ramamurthy Nagar was crossing the road when the accident occurred.

Student ends life

A hotel management student was found dead, hanging from a ceiling fan in his friend’s house, recently. Police said Pawan Mehra, 20, was a sixth semester student at the Army Institute of Hotel Management and Technology in Nagenahalli. He hailed from Rani Kheth, Uttarakhand.

Mehra was staying at a hostel on the Institute’s campus. He was put on training at Park Hotel on MG Road. According to sources, he returned to the Institute Sunday night and obtained the keys of the room of Amith Kumar, his classmate. Kumar was also undergoing training.

When Kumar returned to his room Monday morning, he found Mehra hanging from the ceiling fan. Police have registered a case.
