<p>Mild tremors were experienced in several villages in and around the Male Mahadeshwara Hills of the taluk early Thursday morning.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The tremors were felt at Koudalli, Martalli, Ponnachi, Astur, Marur and Sattarmedu villages. A man fell off the cot he was sleeping on at Ponnachi. Utensils tumbled from kitchen shelves at Martalli. <br /><br />Scared residents came running out of their houses in these villages. There were reports of a mild earthquake in Salem, Dharmapuri, Govindapalli, Kolathur and Chettipatti in Tamil Nadu also. <br /><br />Tahsildar Suresh Kumar visited Ponnachi, Koudalli, Martalli and Sattarmedu and conducted inspections along with officials.<br /></p>
