Public sector defence equipment company BEML Limited has won a prestigious order from the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the supply of dumpers and excavators for its mining segment, BEML said on Tuesday.
The Saudi Arabian order is valued at around Rs 73 crores and is for the supply of 22 60-tonne dumpers and eight 100-tonne dumpers. BEML has bagged the order amidst stiff competition from various other global players, the company said. The consignment was shipped recently from Chennai Port to Jeddah Port.
In addition, BEML’s Rail & Metro business segment has bagged orders from the Indian Railways for supply of 600 rail coaches, 72 AC EMU (Alternating Current Electrical Multiple Unit) and 64 MEMU (Mainline Electrical Multiple Unit) totally valued at over Rs 450 crore.
