Higher Education Minister C T Ravi has said that he was not involved in caste politics.

Speaking at the valedictory of Vikasa Yatre convention, at Chikmagalur on Tuesday, he said “I have not carried out any activities which has instilled fear in the minds of the people. People trust me and love me.”

“All those who have deserted the BJP have not been successful in their life. Many have come back to the party,” he added.

“Is it wrong to take up development work in my constituency? It is true that we are pious. However, one should not consider it as our weakness.

We have furnished accounts of development work to the voters. The Yatre aims not only on winning the Assembly election. It also aims at winning the Loksabha election and making Narendra Modi as the prime Minister of India.”

State BJP vice-president M B Bhanuprakash said “BJP workers need not be scared of the Congress demanding accounts of the work. The Congress is mired in corruption and has looted the resources of the country.”

He said “FDI in retail sector will harm the economy. The citizens should fight against FDI in retail sector. The Congress policies are against the interest of the country. The policies are harming the integrity of the nation.”

“BJP district unit president M K Pranesh said that Dhananjay Kumar was given all important posts in the BJP. He was made as the Union State Minister. However, he had lost the ministership owing to his attitude.”

Zilla Panchayat President Rekha Huliyappa Gowda, Chikmagalur Development Authority President B Rajappa, ZP former president Prafulla Manjunath and others were present.
