<p>A fortnight after registering cases against 38 BBMP officials, including the Palike Commissioner for the alleged loopholes in the new garbage contract, the Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) on Tuesday registered a case against the old contractors and some BBMP officials based on a complaint by a BJP worker, K Madhava Raju alias Madhu. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Referring to the probe by BMTF in 2008, which brought to fore the large-scale irregularities in solid waste management, Raju has alleged that the accused in the case continue to roam scot-free and were holding important positions in the BBMP. <br /><br />Among those named in the complaint are contractors - Balasubramanyam, Gopinath Reddy, Bhanumurthy Reddy, Ravi Naidu and Palike Chief Engineer (SWM) Satish.<br /><br />Raju stated that the BMTF report submitted to the commissioner on November 22, 2008 had pointed to a criminal nexus between the Palike officials and the garbage contractors, which led to a loss of Rs 240 crore to the civic agency.</p>
