Economic stimulus to stay on, says Manmohan

“I do not see that we are operating at full capacity of our economy. Until that capacity limitations are reached, inflationary consequencies are likely to minimal,” he said. The Prime Minister was asked about the G-20 summit decision in Pittsburgh that resolved to continue with the global stimulus package announced in London earlier this year and whether India would continue with it.

Replying to another question whether the recent floods in the South would have an effect on country’s GDP growth, he said it was too early to say. He, however, said that the projection was that growth this year was likely to be 6.2 to 6.5 per cent.
