The conference presented a  platform to companies who wanted to register and increase their company’s leadership position by showcasing their products and services amongst senior manufacturing executives through sponsorship options. It was also an opportunity for solution providers to the manufacturing industries to showcase their offerings. The conference focussed on ways to build manufacturing excellence and make Indian manufacturing move up the value chain, lessons to be learnt from the downturn and current technological trends in manufacturing.

In the keynote address Toyota Kirloskar Motor Chairman Vikram Kirloskar said, “We have started witnessing good growth and recovery in most industries. Investment in capacity expansion which has been almost nil for the last year and a half, has now started picking up.” CII State Council Chairman T Parabrahman said, “There are huge opportunities in Karnataka in terms of investment and growth. The State leads in major sectors like machine tools, cutting tools, earth moving equipment,  IT, biotechnology and floriculture.”

He also elaborated on the relief measures that CII is extending towards the flood-stricken areas in Karnataka. He exhorted the members and delegates to contribute generously to the cause.  Titan Industries Ltd  Managing Director Bhaskar Bhat  spoke about the nuances of business management in troubled times.

“Consumer, cash, cost and people are the basics of management in turbulent times. The consumer will seek value, will need to feel good & celebrate, will seek to escape difficult times and will seek the brands that they trust. Companies should try to give the consumer an affordable and value added version of the same brand.”
