Pramod Kumar Srivastav, 54, attached to the Karnataka German Multi Skill Development Centre (GiZ), under Directorate of Employment & Training, was found hanging at his residence in Puttenahalli.

A resident of Brigade Spring Palms Apartment, he was working as Team Leader in ITI Upgradation Branch of GiZ, and had joined the department one-and-half-years ago.

Police said Srivastav, a native of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, was married to Ashwini and the couple had two children — daughter Astha, studying engineering in Pune and son Anush, studying Class IX in the City.

The family had moved into the apartment, a year ago. Before joining GiZ, Srivastav, was running a business in Kamakshipalya.

Srivastav's wife and children were in Bhopal as it was summer vacations and he was alone at the house. Srivastav’s personal driver Venkatesh, who turned up at the flat to take him to the office, found the door locked from inside.

On receiving no answer despite repeated calls, he brought the security guard of the building, who alerted the locality police. J P Nagar Police rushed to the spot and broke open the door, to find Srivastav hanging from the ceiling fan in the room. The body was shifted to KIMS Hospital.

The police have found a hand written suicide note in his trouser pocket, in which, he has reportedly stated that, he alone was responsible for his death and he was taking his own life as he was suffering from “an incurable disease.” He has also apologised to his family as he couldn’t support them.
