Junior National Equestrian from Sunday

Riders’ skill and horses’ strength will be tested to the hilt in the Junior National Equestrian Championship and Bangalore Horse Show which kicks off at the Agram Grounds in ASC Centre and College here on Sunday.

Around 220 horses and 120 rides from 10 Army and 10 Civilian teams are expected to take part in the eight-day meet, recognised by Equestrian Federation of India (EFI), which concludes on December 30.

Col Ajay Duggal, R S Yadav, Ajay Appachu will be the top draw in the senior category while Nadia Haridass will be the cynosure among the Junior riders. Competitions will be held in various categories in show jumping, dressage, cross country and tent pegging.

The opening day will witness the inaugural ceremony and preliminary jumping events while the final day will have some of the top events like cross country and show jumping.
