A 25-year-old woman working with a private bank in south Delhi was allegedly beaten up and robbed by her former live-in partner inside his car over her continuous refusal to marry him.

The accused, a MBA degree holder, has been arrested in connection with the case.
Pooja Chaturvedi, who works as relationship manager with Yes Bank’s Green Park branch, claims that the incident took place after 28-year-old former live-in partner Deep Baisla forced her to sit in the car on Tuesday.

Sources said Pooja knows Baisla, a resident of Noida, for the past five years and they were living together while he was pursuing MBA from Bangalore. “The complainant stated that Baisla was waiting outside her hostel in R K Puram sector-4 when she started for work on Tuesday morning,” a police officer said.

The victim felt awkward as her hostelmates were also standing outside. So she sat inside the car and asked him to leave the place.

Pooja alleges the accused became aggressive when she told him that she did not want to be in further contact with him.

“In a fit of rage, Baisla stopped the car and began beating her. She alleges that she was thrown out of the car after which he left with her valuables and cash,” the officer added.Baisla allegedly took the woman’s laptop, two mobile phones, credit and debit cards and Rs 8,000 cash.

Pooja immediately approached R K Puram police station and a case under Section 394 (causing hurt in committing robbery) was lodged over her statement. After his arrest, Baisla told police that victim had taken some loan from him but was refusing to return it.
She used to live with her parents at Madhuban in Preet Vihar and shifted to the hostel in R K Puram around seven-eight months ago due to proximity to her Green Park office.
