Vijaya Bank make short work of JSC

The Bankmen posted a comfortable 54-40 win over title contenders Jayanagar Sports Club here at the Sree Kanteerava stadium on Sunday.

Led by shooting guard Murali Mohan (15) and power forward Roshan (14), Vijaya Bank rallied to take a 28-22 lead at half-time. JSC showed some resistance through Sujan (11), but the experienced hoopsters completed the win.

In a high-scoring encounter between Sports Hostel and CMP, the former overcame a stiff challenge to win 95-86.

With the half-time score at 46-45, Sports Hostel pulled ahead in the closing stages to complete victory. Jairaj top-scored for the winners with 23 points and Varun AR (18) and Rabbani (17) chipped in with valuable points.
