Undeterred by the controversy over her claim (a section of the Royal Family of Awadh, has termed the use of the title ‘Princess’ by Fay as a cultural fraud) 50-year old Fay cleaned the slums in Janakipuram area in the city along with others.

Distributes soaps

She also distributed soaps to the children living in the slums and taught them lessons in cleanliness. She was joined by a section of the descendants of the nawabs of Awadh. She was joined by the students of Lucknow University in this drive. The French lady was here at the invitation of the Varsity’s department of tourism.

A section of the royal     family of Awadh had expressed doubts over the claim of Fay and had challenged     her to disclose the name of     her husband, who she claimed was the great grandson of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah and had died.

Fay on Thursday disclosed that she had been married to I Ali Mirza, the grand son of Raunak Ara, one of the wives of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah.

Syed Masoom Raza, descendant of the nawabs of Awadh, told Deccan Herald that Fay Ary alias Jahanara lived in France and ran a voluntary organisation.
