'Rishta.com' was most satisfying, but didn't get TRPs: Shruti Seth

YRF Television came out with an interesting bouquet of shows on the small screen and "Rishta.com" was one of them. Shruti Seth, who played the female lead in the serial, says that despite being well-conceptualised, it didn't get the kind of TRPs they were hoping for.

"I had a great time working on 'Rishta.com'. For me, it has been the most wonderful and satisfying piece of work. Even though it did not pay off in terms of TRPs, I really enjoyed," Shruti told IANS.

"Sadly, the show did not get the numbers we were hoping for. People complain that there is no good TV, but that is because people don't watch good TV," she added.

"Rishta.com" was about Shruti as Isha Mirchandani and new actor Kavi Shastri as Rohan Mehra - the two open a matrimonial agency and try to unite the matches, made in heaven, on earth but while accomplishing this challenging job, encounter extreme cases and illogical requests of their clients.

They show aired on Sony in January 2010.

When asked about the rumours of a second season for the show, Shruti said: "It is a false claim. It is never going to happen... we are not going to come back."
YRF Television's other shows included "Mahi Way" and "Powder".

Shruti, 35, has hosted different seasons of humour-based show "Comedy Circus", and earlier she worked as a video jockey for the show "Junglee Jukebox".
She is also known for her role in "Shararat".

Married to director Danish Aslam, Shruti has been active on the silver screen and has featured in movies like "Fanaa", "Raajneeti" and "Slumdog Millionaire".
She was last seen in the 2011 release "My Friend Pinto".

Shruti is currently seen in the second season of family comedy show "The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir", which comes on Sunday.

Why no daily soap?

"I want to do something different and want people to remember that I played a particular character. Not doing a daily soap just happened and moreover, I was doing other things too so I could never give 20-25 days of a month for one thing," she said.
