A 12-year-old physically challenged schoolgirl was abducted and raped by her neighbour for two days before being rescued from east Delhi’s Krishna Nagar, police said.

The victim, a student of class 8 at a government school in Kanti Nagar near Krishna Nagar area, was kidnapped by her neighbour Ranjit, 22, on Sunday evening.

Ranjit, who is labourer at a plastic-manufacturing factory, had lured the victim from her house on the pretext of showing her some machines at his factory.

“After they reached the factory, Ranjit took her to an isolated location within its premises where he raped her several times,” said a police officer.

Ranjit bound her arms and legs with plastic rope and asked her to go off to sleep. He then left for his home for the night, threatening her of dire consequences.
On Monday morning, Ranjit returned and raped her again.

Meanwhile, the victim's family members approached police on Sunday and registered a missing person's complaint.

They said they suspected Ranjit’s involvement. Police found that Ranjit was also missing from his house and they started looking for him.

An eyewitness told police that Ranjit was last seen with the victim outside her house.
Police then went to the factory in the afternoon and found Ranjit outside the premises.

“He was apprehended and was taken for questioning. He confessed to kidnapping and raping the girl. He then directed us to the spot where he held her hostage. She was taken for a medical examination which confirmed sexual assault,” the officer said.
