38 nominations filed for Town Panchayat polls

The elections to the Gudibande Town Panchayat will be held on March 7 and so far, 38 nominations have been filed from 11 wards, according to Election Officer Y C Ravikumar.

Among the 38 nominations filed so far, 12 of them are from Independent candidates, 10 by the KJP, five by JD(S), five by CPM, three from the Congress, two from the BSR have filed on one candidate has filed from the BJP, he said.

Six candidates have filed their nominations from ward no 1:  Independent candidates including H Venkateshappa, Rathnamma, G Rajesh and Vishwanath, KJP candidate M N Rajanna and JD(S) candidate G V Shrinivas have filed.

Three candidates have filed from ward no 2:  KJP candidate Asha Jayappa, Congress candidate Lakshmikanthamma and CPM candidate Vidya Girish have filed.

Four candidates have filed from ward no 3:  Independent candidate Gangadevamma, BSR candidate Rathnamma, KJP candidate Venkatarathnamma and Congress candidate A Chennamma have filed their papers.

Three candidates have filed from ward no 4:  Independent candidate Dwarkanath Naidu, BJP candidate B A Rajesh and KJP candidate G S Shrinath have filed their papers.

Two candidates have filed from ward no 5:  KJP candidate G S Shrinath and JD(S) candidate Venkateshappa have filed.

Only one candidate has filed from ward no 6:  KJP candidate Parvathamma is the lone contender.

Six candidates have filed from ward no 7: Independent candidates Jabeeullah and Mohmmad Fayaz, KJP candidate Sameeullah Khan, JD(S) candidate Riyaz Pasha, Congress candidate Ismail Azad and CPM candidate Basheer Ahmad have filed their papers.

Only one candidate has filed from ward no 8:  Independent candidate M Venkatalakshmamma.

Four candidates have filed from ward no 9: BSR candidate Susheelamma, JD(S) candidate Azmath, CPM candidate Makabool Unnisa and KJP candidate Basheera have filed their papers.

Six candidates have filed from ward no 10: JD(S) candidate Shivashankar, Independent candidate Sayyad Ameer, CPM candidate Abdul Razak and KJP candidate Afsar Pasha.

Four candidates have filed from ward no 11: Independent candidates A N Vijayalakshmi and Anjenamma, CPM candidate Ramalakshmamma and KJP candidate Rajamma have filed their papers.
