He won the first for his supporting role in the 2009 film "Inglorius Basterds".<br /><br />For this year's Oscar statuette, he pipped Alan Arkin ("Argo"), Robert De Niro ("Silver Linings Playbook"), Philip Seymour Hoffman ("The Master") and Tommy Lee Jones ("Lincoln").<br /><br /></p>
