Stalker held for trying to kidnap, molest 15-yr-old

A 20-year-old youth was arrested for trying to kidnap and molest a class 8 student at Shahdara in north-east Delhi, police said on Tuesday.

The 15-year-old victim, a Shahdara-resident, told police that Vishu, who lives nearby, was stalking her for the last few months. She had snubbed his advances many times.

Waylaid

The victim said on Monday evening when she was returning home from a private tuition class, Vishu blocked her way and pleaded for friendship.

But when she ignored him, he threw a piece of cloth on her face, dragged her towards his car and abducted her.

The girl resisted and managed to come out of the moving car near Shahdara Metro station and ran for her house.

The accused molested the girl and beat her up during the kidnapping bid, police said.
After reaching home, she told her parents about the incident, who then approached police.

On the victim’s statement, police have registered a case with Shahdara police station under sections 342 (wrongful confinement), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (molestation), 363 (kidnapping) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

A senior police officer said the accused was arrested from his house and later produced before the court. He has been sent to judicial custody.
