Actress Prachi Desai, who plays a chic hairdresser in the John Abraham-starrer I, Me aur Main, says the romantic drama is a turning point in her career.

“As ‘Rock On’ was my stepping stone in the industry, similarly I, Me aur Main will be the turning point as it will portray a new Prachi Desai,” the actress says. In the film — which also stars Chitrangada Singh — Prachi plays a pivotal character, who is the reason behind the change in John’s character.

“Gauri is my favourite character because she is so similar to me in real life. She is a live-wire and free-spirited. She is living her life to the fullest and wants everybody around to do the same. She is a hairstylist by profession. The equation between her and John’s character is so fantastic. They are pals. She is one person in the film for whom John changes,” she smiles.

Asked about her on-screen chemistry with John in the film, Prachi replies, “Sharing screen space with John was fantastic. He could be anyone’s favourite co-star. John has a quirky sense of humour and he is one of the most accommodating actors.”

Prachi started her career with the television serial Kasam Se when she was 17 years old and after that, she starred in various films including Bol Bachchan, ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai’ and ‘Life Partner’. The actress says she is happy about her film choices. “My journey in the industry was difficult initially because I was an outsider. I am lucky that I have been a part of some good films and made good choices,” she says.

The actress adds that she has left TV for sometime and will only return if she gets a chance to judge a reality show. “It’s very unfortunate that in our country, you have to do either of the two. TV content in India is not progressive. So, I chose films. I will come back if I get a chance to judge a reality show,” she states.

Prachi will next be seen in the third installment of Vikram Bhatt’s horror franchise ‘1920’, opposite a newcomer. “We will be shooting the film at the locations for the film ‘Harry Potter’ and I am really excited about it,” she gushes.
