Coffee growers oppose MESCOM tariff hike

The objection said that the MESCOM had sought for revision in fare owing to the shortage of rainfall. However, the state has received bountiful rainfall. All the reservoirs are overflowing. The production of electricity has increased. Moreover, the electricity is being purchased from various sources. So the burden will not fall on Mescom. The hike in tariff can not be accepted. The loss incurred by MESCOM is due to lapse in its administration and not due to the per unit cost levied on the customer. Coffee Growers Association Advocate H Krishnamurthy presented the objection.
