Buzzing with energy and spirit

Maharani Science College for Women recently hosted its annual cultural fest, Sambhrama, which had a variety of events, including music and dance-related events as well as a fashion show. The students were treated to a day of fun, entertainment and loads of action.

Speaking after inaugurating the fest, B L Bhagyalakshmi, joint director, Department of Collegiate Education, dwelt on the need to maintain cultural integration and harmony among the young people. She also spoke about the need to be positive and have a passion for whatever one does so that one can face the challenges of life with courage, commitment and conviction.

There were more than ten colleges that participated in the fest and the enthusiasm of each participant student was visible.

They were grateful to have a platform to showcase their talents in various fields. Pinky Arya, a student and a dancer from Maharani Science College, says, “Fests provide a platform to showcase the talent of the students from various colleges.”
Agamam Ujwala, a third-year science student of the same institute, adds, “This fest is a great occasion for students to compete in different events, which also provide them a chance to asses themselves.”

Shruthi, another student, feels that fests are a great place to interact with other people. “They give us a chance to meet our old friends and cheer for our college team,” she smiles. Sikshana, a student of Christ College, adds, “There were
so many events that were structured not only to entertain but to provoke the students to think beyond the predictable.”

Akshatha Rao from Jain College, who won five or six prizes, says, “I am thrilled that I have won so many prizes. It’s motivation to perform better and win more prizes. At fests, you not only make more friends but the cheering from the crowd is energetic.”
The award for the best male model went to Jeffery Ponnappa from Acharya Institute of Technology, while the prize for best female model went to Neha from Jain College.
