<p>A local court today remanded to 14 days judicial custody, the man arrested in connection with the rape of a three-year old girl.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The man was also subjected to medical check-up at Kozhikode medical college hospital, before being produced in the District and Sessions court at Manjeri.<br /><br />Earlier, police had registered a case of kidnap and rape against the man.<br /><br />A huge crowd had thronged the court premises when the man was brought under tight police security.<br /><br />The man was nabbed yesterday from Kozhikode.<br /><br />The three-year-old girl was raped and later abandoned in Tirur in the district on March 5.<br />The child, belonging to a migrant Tamil family, was sleeping with her mother near a hospital here when she was abducted, raped and abandoned near a building.<br /><br />The child was rushed to a hospital at Tirur and later shifted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital where she underwent two surgeries and her condition was reported to be stable.<br />The child is presently in the ICU at the Institute of Maternal and Child Health of the Medical college.</p>
