<p>Two people died on the spot and four suffered serious injuries when a four-wheeler in which they were travelling, toppled after hitting a median on the National Highway 4 in Tavarekere police station limits in Sira on Sunday. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The dead have been identified as Mutthuraju, 29, and Mariyappa, 30, both residents of Bangalore. <br /><br />Siddappa, Vijayalakshmi, Usha and driver Raju have been seriously injured. They are being treated at a hospital in Tumkur. <br /><br />Travelling for festival<br /><br />Mariyappa and his family members were travelling to Dodderi village in Challakere taluk to celebrate Shivarathri festival, when the accident occurred. <br /><br />According to the police, negligence on part of the driver is said to be the reason for the mishap. A case has been registered at the Sira police station in this regard.<br /></p>
