Last Updated 13 March 2013, 19:30 IST

The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Bangalore, on Wednesday quashed the order of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), repatriating N B Bharathi, an IPS officer of Odisha cadre, to her original cadre. She is presently on deputation to the IB in its Bangalore office.

“The repatriation order is found to be arbitrary, malicious, malafide and made without considering facts and, issued while considering elements foreign to the issue and is hereby quashed,” the CAT bench said.

The IB had repatriated N B Bharathi claiming that she was unable to adjust to the work culture of the Bureau. The IB claimed, on her deputation to the Bureau in 2009, she was posted to its office in Bangalore as it thought that she would better ‘adjust’ in the City which is her home town.
