<p>An officer from the Block Education Office of Gandhinagar informed this paper on Friday that admission had been secured for the son of Veer Patil Shetty. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Deccan Herald on Friday had highlighted the plight of Shetty, the parent from Jalahalli who had alleged that his son’s name was not on the list of a school he had applied to under the quota prescribed by the Right to Education Act. <br /><br />This despite reported assurances from the local office of the Block Education Officer that his name was on the list. <br /><br />Anjanappa, the Block Education Officer of Gandhinagar confirmed that Veer Patil Shetty’s son had been admitted to another school in his area as on Friday. <br /><br />Applied in two schools<br /><br />Veer Shetty had applied for his son’s admission in two schools within his ward and one in the neighbouring ward of Bommasandra under the RTE quota. The candidate’s name was not mentioned in the school he had applied to as it came under Bommasandra and not <br />Jalahalli. <br /><br />The official also said that as per records with the office of the Block Education Officer, there are 42 seats in the school at Bommasandra and not 39 as claimed by Veer Shetty. <br /></p>
