SUV blocks ambulance ferrying girl's body in Karnataka, case registered

Mangaluru: A SUV allegedly obstructed an ambulance carrying the body of a girl near the Karla Shrirama Bhajana Mandira at Padnur village on October 12.

According to the police, the vehicle overtook the ambulance and stopped in front of it, blocking the way. The ambulance was transporting the body of a deceased girl, and her family members—who were reportedly injured—were accompanying it.

It is alleged that the occupants of the SUV verbally abused the people in the ambulance and even issued life threats. Based on a complaint filed by Avinash M (32) of Puttur taluk, the Puttur Town Police have registered a case under Sections 126(2), 352, 351(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023.

Police said an investigation into the incident is underway.
