Two people committed suicide in the capital in last 24 hours, police said. A 24-year-old man was found hanging inside his house in outer Delhi's Mangolpuri on Saturday morning.

Ramesh Kumar was unemployed and an alcoholic. He hanged himself late on Friday night at his house and was found next morning by family members, said a police officer.

“We received a call and rushed to the spot. We found him hanging from the ceiling fan with the help of a bed sheet. His body was later sent for post-mortem,” said the officer.

During investigation, police found that Kumar had arrived home in an inebriated condition. When his family members objected to his drinking habit, he got into an heated argument against them.

After the argument, he had dinner and retired to his room. He was found hanging next morning. “We have not recovered any suicide note from the spot. We are still probing,” said the officer.

22-year-old dies

A 22-year-old unemployed youth too hanged himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in east Delhi's Sonia Vihar on Friday evening.

His roommate arrived late that night and found him hanging. Police informed his family members and sent the body for post-mortem.

“No suicide note was found from the spot,” said a police officer.
