Woman alleges gang rape

Husband, aides assaulted her in Patiala House Courts

A 25-year-old married woman alleged that three men, including a lawyer, raped her and her husband sexually abused her at Patiala House Courts on Monday.

The woman, a resident of Pandav Nagar in east Delhi, said after a marital discord with her husband, she had filed a divorce case which is going on at Karkardooma Court.

She alleged that her husband’s lawyer R K Chaudary called her at Karkardooma Court to settle the issue on Monday afternoon.

When she reached, she found her sister-in-law and brother-in-law present there with Chaudary. After talking for hours, Chaudary asked them to come to Patiala House Courts.
At around 6 pm, she found her husband and Chaudary’s assistant present there in the lawyers’ chamber number six.

However, after talking and counselling, they did not reach any conclusion to settle the divorce.

“She then alleged that her husband offered her a beer. But when she refused, Chaudary’s assistant grabbed and raped her. Then Chaudary and her brother-in-law took turns to rape her. After the ordeal, her husband sexually abused her,” said a police officer, quoting her complaint.

Later, threatening her with dire consequences, they came to see her off at the court’s gate number five.

In the complaint, she said she walked down to a police control room van and told them that she was gang raped.

A police team took her to a hospital for a medical examination.

On the victim’s statement and medical report, a case was registered against the all the four men with Tilak Marg police station.

“We are not trying to ascertain the authenticity of the allegation,” said a police officer.
Police are checking the CCTV footage of both the courts and the call detail records of the woman and rest of the people.
