Give significance to human values, students told

Speaking at the one-day workshop held at Thenkaneediyur Government Pre University College on ‘Relevance of social work in the present scenario’ here on Wednesday, she opined that students of the social work courses should not be opportunistic.

 They should not concentrate only on the career opportunities offered by the course but develop compassionate thoughts. Ample job offers are available for the students who take up the course, Ashok said.

Speaking after inaugurating the workshop, Lokayukta Deputy Superintendent of police Prabhudeva Mane urged the students to inculcate thoughts enabling the broader spectrum of societal services. Human values should be given equal significance, he opined.

Dr A V Baliga Hospital Director Dr P V Bhandary, Pramila Vaz from District Education Resource Centre and Founder of Ragatharanga Prakash Shenoy delivered the talks on the occasion.

Thenkaneediyur Government Pre University College Principal Prof G Yogananda presided. Head of the department of Social Work Giridhar Rao M S, Coordinator Dugappa Kajekar, Anil Palan and others were present.
