JD(S) candidates' list by month-end

The JD(S) is planning to release the list of its candidates for the upcoming elections to State Assembly by the end of this month.

Disclosing this to reporters, party leader Basavaraj Horatti said the JD(S) Parliamentary Board would soon finalise the list and send it for approval to party chief H D Deve Gowda and State JD(S) president H D Kumaraswamy.

Senior party leader M C Nanaiah charged both the BJP and the RSS with spreading canards about the JD(S) having a tacit understanding with them. “The RSS and the BJP are designing a ploy to weaken our support base among the minorities by spreading such canard,” he alleged.

There was no reason for the JD(S) to strike an alliance with the BJP as its image has taken a beating in the wake of corruption charges against it, he said.
