1,807 write entrance exam for residential school

As many as 1,807 students appeared for entrance exam (VI standard) conducted for Morarji Desai Residential School, Kittur Chennamma Residential School and Atal Behari Vajpayee Residential School at six exam centres in the district on Saturday.

Admission to VI standard

Applications for the VI standard were invited a few days ago and of the 2004 students applied, 1,807 appeared for the exam. In Chikkaballapur, exam was held at the Newton English Grammar School.

“Those who could not apply through applications were provided direct entry to write the exam,” said Krishnappa, Social Welfare officer. They were very happy at this opportunity.
After valuation, counselling for the selected students will be held in April and May and a total of 840 students will be selected for the various residential schools in the district. State-level examination officers kept vigil at the exam centres to check malpracticing.
