<p>Mangalore University Vice-Chancellor T C Shivashankaramurthy said, the PG Centre at Chikkaluvara will start from the next academic year and the centre might become a university in future. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Speaking at ‘Savinenapu’, a programme organised by the Alumni Association of Field Marshal K M Cariappa College here recently, he said, Mangalore University was setting up the PG Centre in Kodagu to help students. <br /><br />The works on the PG Centre is under progress and the classes are likely to begin either in the month of June or July. <br /><br />Enrollment<br /><br />The programme was inaugurated by a first batch student Kettoleera Subbaiah. Alumni Association president N A Appayya said, the association has around 350 members. “It aims to enrol at least 1,000 members by the year end. <br /><br />The University should help the college to get a state-of-the art stadium and a swimming pool,” he urged.<br /><br />MLC M C Nanaiah, retired principal Pushpa Kuttanna, principal B C Ponnappa, retired judge M P Chinnappa, ex-servicemen Puttichanda Ganapathy and D A Dhananjay and best teacher awardee M D Nanjunda were present.<br /></p>
