Aftab Shivdasani has come a long way from being a child artiste. The actor, after doing close to 40 films including Kasoor, Kya Yehi Pyaar Hain, Awara Paagal Deewana and ‘Footpath’, slowly faded away from the big screen.

And just when many thought he had quit the film industry, he came back with a horror film, ‘1920 –– Evil Returns’, last year. Aftab says he took the break because the offers he received were not exciting enough.

“I wasn’t really busy, but the offers that came my way were not exciting. I decided not to work instead of doing just anything. I waited and spent time with myself. The break happened by chance. It was not something I had planned, but I welcomed it,” Aftab, who was in the City recently, tells Metrolife.

The actor, who was quite busy with the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL), will also be seen along with Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi in Grand Masti. “This is a sequel to Masti, in which Riteish, Vivek and I had worked together many years ago. It was nice getting back together for the sequel with both these guys. It has been a fun experience shooting for it,” he adds.

Aftab rubbishes rumours that the movie is very similar to the first one. “Though the characters are the same as the first part, Grand Masti is completely different. It is a comedy of errors, which is something many people will enjoy watching,” he says.

Aftab goes on to add that the only thing common to both the movies is the director and the three main actors. “The rest of the story, setting and the wives are different. It’s

going to be funnier, crazier and wilder,” he says.

Aftab says he hasn’t really planned his next move after that. “I am happy at the pace I am going. I want to be part of movies that will excite me as an actor. Until then, I am willing to wait,” he sums up.
