JOIN US Depressed over poor result in school examination, a class 9 girl hanged herself at her house at Outer Delhi’s Narela, police said.
Pinky Kumari, 14, was found hanging from a ceiling fan on Tuesday evening by her mother.
“We received a call around 6 pm. We rushed to the spot and found her hanging from the ceiling fan,” said a police officer. She was rushed to a hospital where doctor declared her brought dead.
Her mother told police that Pinky, who studied at a government school, was depressed since Saturday after she did not do well in the annual examination.
There was no suicide note found on the spot. However, during enquiry police found that she failed in few subjects and was very depressed over that. “There was is no foul play. It is matter of suicide,” said the officer.
After a post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family members on Wednesday.
