Clear encroachments, orders CM

The government has identified that of the 1,22,998 acres of government land in Bangalore Urban, 36,877  has been encroached upon. Of the 9,030 acres that has been recovered from this encroachment , 3,683 acres of land has been auctioned to various Non-Governmental organisations and associations. The officials have been instructed to clear the rest of the encroachments and solve the matters at the courts as early as possible. While, the disbursed land, value is placed at Rs 559 crore, only Rs 246 crore has been recovered. The balance amount of Rs 313 crore is yet to be given to the government.    
The government has also stated that about 1,640 acres were to be auctioned for the public, but only 643 acres have been disbursed with the balance land mired by litigations in various courts. The government meanwhile has received Rs 195 crore from the auction of these lands to the general public.

Under section 94(c) of the rulebook, the government has stated that of encroached land, 269 acres has been regularised. Further, it has received 8,334 applications for regularisation of their lands from the public. The CM in his statement has said that the Deputy Commissioner (revenues) is tackling the issue of lands which have fabricated documents.
