JOIN US'SKDRDP distributed Rs 800 crore loan through SHGs'
Speaking after inaugurating 5,555th Self-Help Group at Cauvery PU College maidan organised jointly by SKDRDP, Pragathi Bandhu, Self-Help Groups Federation on Wednesday, he said SKDRDP is being providing loan to those who are in distress through SHGs. Women should avail loan by telling the truth. SKDRDP is not an institution which is involved in lending loan. He called upon the people to be disciplined in life and return the loan borrowed. Poverty and richness are not permanent in life. One should develop intellectual thoughts by warding off laziness and hatredness, he added.
Health insurance
Health insrance will be introduced in Kodagu from next year, Heggade announced.
Health insurance is being carried out successfully in nine districts in the district. As many as 10 lakh people have been benefited from the insurance. By paying premium of Rs 500, a family of five will get insurance of Rs 25,000. This insurance is different from the Yashaswini scheme of the state government.
In the last 62 years of independence, government has introduced several rural development schemes. India has made lot of progress in various fields. However, the villages have not yet seen the progress. People have been failed to make use of the facilities offered by the government. MP H Vishwanath said the SKDRDP is supplementary to National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
Assembly Deputy Speaker K G Bopaiah, Zilla Panchayat Vice President Kanjithanda Anitha and others were present. About 12,000 SHG members took part in the programme.
