Last Updated 06 May 2013, 18:59 IST

Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal was involved in a controversy over the allotment of land for a Delhi Public School in Chandigarh in 2002.

An advocate had filed a public interest litigation (PIL) in the Punjab and Haryana High Court in Chandigarh naming Bansal and Ambika Soni in it.

The PIL alleged that rules were amended to facilitate the allotment of land to Bansal’s Heritage Education Society. A sum of Rs 90 lakh was paid for the land against the market price of Rs 50 crore, alleged the PIL. The case is pending before the court.
Bansal was hit by another row in the booth allotment scandal in Chandigarh.
