<p>The fate of 2,940 candidates who contested the May 5 Assembly polls will be decided at 36 counting centres across the State on Wednesday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>As many as 3.1 crore voters exercised their franchise, which have now been captured in 57,012 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).<br /><br />Counting of votes for 28 constituencies coming under Bangalore Urban district and Bangalore Bruhat Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) limits will be taken up at four counting centres – VHD Home Science College, Seshadri Road; Mount Carmel PU College, Palace Road; Maharani’s Arts College, Palace Road and SSMRV PU College, Jayanagar. <br /><br />The counting of votes of the four constituencies of Ramanagar will be taken up at the Government RC College of Commerce.<br /><br />Chief Electoral Officer Anil Kumar Jha said counting of votes will start at 8 am on May 8 and initial trends will be available by 10 am. <br /><br />The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), as per the EC directions, has taken over the responsibility of securing the premises of the strong rooms where the EVMs have been stored.<br /><br />As many as 100 personnel will be involved in counting of votes per constituency. According to Additional District Electoral Officer (ADEO) Dr R Vishal, as many as 14 tables for counting the votes will be set up for each constituency. Each counting table will have three personnel for counting the votes, with one micro-observer in place.
