Mahie Gill, who set the screen on fire with movies like Dev D and Sahib Biwi aur Gangster Returns, will next be seen in Satish Kaushik’s comedy ‘Gang of Ghosts’.

The actress says that films like ‘Chillar Party’ should be made more often as the film-going audience in the country is ready to enjoy a new kind of cinema.

Co-directed by Nitesh Tiwari and Vikas Bahl, ‘Chillar Party’ won the 2011 National Film Award for Best Children’s Film.

“I have seen ‘Chillar Party’ — it was a fantastic film made by a friend, Vikas (Bahl). I feel that more films like this should be made as now, the time is ripe with more and more experimental cinema being made,” the actress says frankly.

She goes on to add that with the change in the audience’s tastes, directors too are exploring alternate genres. “New directors and scripts are coming to the fore. Audiences have changed a lot and want to experience a new kind of cinema,” she states.

Meanwhile, Mahie, who is very choosy about her films, has no project in her kitty at the moment other than the ghost comedy.

“I do a very limited number of films because the script is very important to me. I will first complete a film and only then will I decide what I have to do next,” says the
actress, who tasted success in 2008 with Anurag Kashyap’s Dev D.

‘Gang of Ghosts’ also stars Anupam Kher and Priyanka Chopra’s cousin Meera in the lead. Mahie was last seen in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns.
