Gold, cash seized from dacoits

Shivavinayagam of I Court Colony in Coimbatore district (TN), B Guna of Iragur Ondi Pudur in Coimbatore, and Kamaraj of High Court Colony, Willvakum in Chennai are the accused.

They were allegedly involved in more than 100 theft cases in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. A special team constituted to trace the gang travelled to various parts in Tamil Nadu and Kerala and arrested them.

The accused had struck at the house of Sridhar, a software engineer, at Koramangala 4th Block on February 24 and decamped with gold and diamond ornaments worth Rs 50 lakh.
In another case, the police arrested Ramesh of Wilson Garden and Vinay of Hosur Road in a robbery case and recovered six gold chains worth Rs 3.50 lakh. The accused had robbed lone women in Koramangala, Madivala, HSR Layout and Electronic City.

Arrested for robbery

The Commercial Street police have arrested two persons in a robbery case and recovered jewellery worth Rs 20 lakh from them.

The accused Kadrivelu of Mangammanapalya was released from the prison recently. He befriended Mohammad Tahir of K G Halli and both of them reportedly hatched a plan. They zeroed in on locked houses, broke them open and fled with valuables.

The duo had struck at houses in Jnanabharathi, Vijayanagar, Chandra Layout, Girinagar and Hulimavu.
