The second day of Delhi University’s Open Day received a good response, similar to day one when over 1,000 parents and students visited the campus to interact with the authorities about the four-year undergraduation programme to be implemented from this academic session.

“There is a lot of buzz regarding the new graduation structure among the public. Questions related to interdisciplinarity, employment opportunities and exit point system among others were asked repeatedly,” said a varsity official.

“The new structure is flexible with papers in it which students can relate to, for instance, environment and that is what the parents and the students liked about it,” said the official. The varsity will organise another round next month to clear more doubts.

“Several faculty members and people who were involved in devising the new programme will be available online on the university website. Students and parents will get the opportunity to clear their doubts,” added the official.

Experts will hold an-hour chat session online on different time schedule for the purpose.

“On June 3, the Dean of Students’ Welfare will be online. Principal of Deen Dyal Upadhyaya College and members from the faculty of education will be available on June 6 and 8 respectively,” said the official.

The head of department, English, will address the queries online on June 10, added the official. He said the schedule is tentative.

“The text version of chats will also be available on the website for reference,” said the official. The university’s undergraduate admissions will start from June 5.
